Passwords and non-key unlocks: Lab, Valley, and more
Not every blocked route needs an item key. Password locks use a nearby Password Hint: interact with the hint, enter its four digits at the matching terminal, and the linked door unlocks. The hint and terminal use the same destination name, so follow that name rather than trying a code at every panel.
Quick route to the Valley
- Go to the Military Outpost. Find the Password Hint marked Dynamic password for entering the valley near the route toward the Outpost Research Station.
- Read the hint, then head east to the valley entrance. Enter those digits at the Valley entrance terminal beside the Entrance to the valley marker.
- Continue through the opened route. The Valley itself is marked farther east; the terminal at the entrance is the one that removes the restriction.
If you found a panel at the Lab or a military building first, it is not the Valley lock. Read the destination name on the hint before leaving so you take the right code to the right terminal.
Every password route
Each link opens the map at the exact Password Hint, not at the surrounding area.
- Town lockdown exit: read the Password Hint in Lima Lake Town; use it at the terminal on the road out of town.
- Military control room: read the Password Hint at the Abandoned Camp; use it at the Military Outpost control-room terminal.
- Lab core facility: read the Password Hint in the Lab Electrical Room; use it at the core-facility terminal inside the Lab.
- Valley entrance: read the Password Hint marked "Dynamic password for entering the valley", between the Military Outpost and Outpost Research Station; use it at the terminal beside the Entrance to the valley marker.
Levers
Two doors in the Forest Region are opened by a lever instead. A lever needs no key, password or item: interact with it and the door that matches it unlocks and opens at once. Each lever opens exactly one door.
| Lever | Door it opens |
|---|---|
| Laboratory lever, beside the Laboratory | Laboratory door, which starts locked |
| Factory lever, near the Factory | Wire-mesh gate, which starts locked |
The Burning Grove has no levers.
When a password door will not open
- Read the hint first. A terminal accepts only the digits from a hint with the same destination name.
- Use all four digits. The terminals expect a four-digit entry; a partial entry cannot unlock the route.
- Look for a nearby terminal with the same destination. The hint is not the lock itself—it gives the code for its paired terminal.
- Do not turn this into a key hunt. These locks are opened by interacting with the hint and terminal, not by carrying a key item.
