Early crafting: backpack and medical supplies
These three crafts turn simple salvage into immediately useful carry capacity and treatment supplies. Follow the chain in order when you need a first backpack; otherwise, keep the listed materials for the specific craft you want.
Turn common salvage into a handmade backpack
| Step | Conversion | Why keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric Dismantle or Umbrella Dismantle | 1 broken armour or 1 umbrella → 2 cheap textiles. | Cheap textiles are the base input for early medical supplies and the handmade backpack. |
| Coutures solides | 1 rope → 3 durable stitches. | You only need one stitch for the backpack, leaving two for later crafts. |
| Sac à dos artisanal | 5 cheap textiles + 1 durable stitch → 1 backpack. | This is a concrete early carry-capacity goal, not an inferred recipe. |
Choose the immediate need
Bandage converts 1 cheap textile into 2 bandages. Attelle converts 5 cheap textiles plus 1 wood into 10 splints. If a backpack is the current goal, reserve five textiles and one durable stitch before crafting medical supplies.
Rénovation de tissu is a separate five-cheap-textile-to-one-fiber-cloth conversion. Make fiber cloth only for a recipe that specifically needs it; it is not a general upgrade path for every spare textile.
Before you craft
- Open the selected blueprint first and check whether it needs Handcraft or a Safe House station.
- Follow direct ingredient links when you are short of a material; do not assume an item has only one source.
- Keep mission, research, and furniture materials out of a conversion chain until you have checked their other uses.
