牛虻

Attacks and behaviour

A flying spitter that can latch on and drain you, then retreats to heal twice during a fight.

• While it holds you: You cannot run, roll, draw, holster or switch weapons, or interact. You can still walk, aim, shoot and reload. Shots from ranged weapons do not hurt it while it holds you; only melee hits do, and 100 damage from them breaks its hold.
• After you break free: It is thrown back and staggers for about 1.5 s. It then flies around for 3 s, spitting in whatever direction it faces every 0.1 to 0.2 s.
• Retreat and heal: The first time its health drops to 70% and the first time it drops to 30%, it stops attacking once its current attack ends. It flies 6 m directly away from you, lands, and spends two 2.4 s loops regaining 25% of its maximum health after each loop, never above full health. You can still hurt it while it does this.
• Hearing threshold: 20. Lower values react to quieter and more distant sounds. How noise draws enemies

Attacks

• Spit: 30 Impact; reach 12 m; wind-up 0.40 s; about one attack every 2.0 s; Wound infection: 40 s, if you are already Bleeding (50 True damage every 10 s, the first after 10 s)
• Spit burst: five spits 0.35 s apart, then a 5 s cooldown before the next burst
• Blood suck: it dashes at you first (reach 15 m; wind-up 2.0 s), then holds on for up to 10 s, doing 10 True damage every 0.67 s and healing itself 10 each time; Bleeding: 30 s once it lets go
